You can discover Zillertal in so many different ways. One of my favourites: a steam train ride.

When I was a child, a train ride was something special for me. I was always incredibly excited to clamber into the carriage, to gaze at the scenery passing me by, and listen to the calming rhythm of the wheels on the tracks. And I sometimes still feel that same excitement today. That’s why one of my favourite experiences in Zillertal is a ride on the old Zillertalbahn steam train. This historic train travels between Jenbach and Mayrhofen, where you will also find our hotel in Tyrol. The 119-year-old steam train chugs through the valley from June to August from Tuesday to Saturday, and from September to the beginning of October from Tuesday to Sunday. Over the 32-kilometre ride, train lovers of all ages will enjoy taking a journey into the past and experience a special feeling of nostalgia. Are you interested in trying it for yourself?
