Does your heart skip a beat as soon as you hear the words “Christmas baking”? We have a delightful recipe for you.
December is here, and it brings with it the most tranquil time of the year: Christmas. What shouldn’t be missing from a successful Christmas celebration? Scrumptious baked goodies, of course. At Neue Post (one of best Hintertux hotels), we adore vanilla crescent biscuits. Here’s our recipe for you:
Ingredients:
320g flour
60g ground almonds (without skin)
60g ground hazelnuts (without skin)
270g butter
120g sugar
2 eggs
1 pinch of salt
Sugar and vanilla sugar to roll the biscuits in
Mix the flour with the almonds and hazelnuts on your work surface. Cut the butter into cubes and mix together with the sugar, eggs, and salt. Combine with the flour mixture to make a smooth dough and shape it into a roll. Leave the dough to rest in the fridge for an hour, then cut the roll into small pieces, shape these into balls, roll into small logs, and shape into crescents. Bake in the oven at approx. 175 degrees for five to seven minutes until golden. Roll carefully in the vanilla sugar mixture while still warm. We hope you have fun baking and look forward to seeing you again soon at Neue Post, where delicious cuisine and soothing wellness await you.
